Our Learning Vision

Our Learning Culture

At LIBR, we approach learning as a personal and lifelong pursuit of social, emotional, and intellectual development. We believe that every learner is gifted with boundless potential and that our role as educators must be to awaken the various forms of intelligence and spark curiosity about everything in the real and abstract world. Rich and authentic learning experiences are used to cultivate innate talents, provide opportunities to pursue interests and passions, both inside and outside of the classroom, and strive for excellence; all in the spirit of respect, integrity, and well-being.

Drivers of Learning

We are dedicated to the holistic development of our learners. This is captured through four distinct drivers of learning that permeate all aspects of learning at LIBR.

  • Personalised Learning

Learners learn in different ways and at different paces. Personalized learning is a teaching model based on that premise. Each student gets a “learning plan” based on how they learn, what they know, and what their skills and interests are. It’s the opposite of the “one size fits all” approach used in most schools.

  • Social Emotional Learning

We encourage our learners to establish positive identities, feel a sense of belonging and develop agency. Our learners acquire and apply knowledge, attitudes and skills to understand and navigate their own emotions, set and achieve positive personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy and respect for others, maintain supportive relationships and make responsible decisions.

  • Intercultural learning

We recognise that culture sets the social norms and accepted values of a given society, which in turn is what sustains a cohesive society. Intercultural learning is the process of becoming more aware of and a better understanding of one’s own culture, identity and history, and that of other peoples around the world, with the aim of fostering dialogue, interaction, tolerance and understanding across our global and local communities.

  • Wider Learning

We offer a holistic approach to education, by providing rich learning opportunities beyond the classroom that allows for physical, social and cognitive stimuli that nurture brave, brilliant and inquisitive young people who are committed to the positive growth of themselves and others

Developing Well-Rounded Individuals

The Sri Sudershana Chakram

Our Sri Sudershan Chakram, the human transformative model, represents the unique profile of a LIBR learner across the length and breadth of the school. It embodies the key skills and competencies that transcend the individual areas of the curriculum and allows learners to make connections across a wide array of disciplines which are vital and aspirational elements of 21st-century learning. By encouraging a deeper understanding of how to experience spiritually, live physically, think differently, decide intellectually, bond emotionally, and relate socially, our learners become true global thinkers, adaptable lifelong learners and well-rounded people in preparation for the wider world and the future that awaits them.
